Chapter Sixteen

Beau

As I came down the stairs, I met Belle’s gaze and could feel the heat there. That was something that I was going to have to deal with later. For now, I needed to get down to Austin’s shop. I was stopped though when I heard Bianca’s voice. What the fuck was she doing back? When Belle ran out of the door before I could stop her, I grabbed my keys and wallet.

“Beau.”

“Bianca.”

“Going somewhere?”

“Not that it’s any of your business but yes, something has come up at work and I need to go.”

“Can it wait? I need to talk to you.”

“No, it can’t. You will have to wait.”

“Really, not even a few minutes?”

“Bianca, my brothers tattoo shop is in flames. I know you don’t get the whole family concept because you can just up and leave people and not give a shit, but I have to be there. Not only is it my job, but it’s mine and my brother’s business. Now whatever you have to say can wait.” I turned to put my alarm code on and locked my front door.

“I know you are seeing someone, Holly told me. Was that her?”

“None of your business, Bianca, you left.” Moving over to my car, I unlocked it and got inside. Putting the key in the ignition, I glanced over at Bianca, shaking my head before pulling out of the driveway. I needed to put that out of my mind. I had a more important task on my hands. Arriving at the fire downtown, I got out of my truck and put on my jacket, doing it up. Moving over to the crowd barrier, I went around it. When the police tried to stop me, they took one look at me before waving me through. I continued over to where my crew was.

“Update.” Grady moved to my side.

“It’s contained. We haven’t gone in to see the extent of the damage, we wanted it out before we sent crews in there.” I nodded, pulling out my phone. I pulled up Austin’s number and tapped the screen. Taking a deep breath, I held the phone to my ear.

“Brother.”

“Hey, you busy?”

“Kind of, I have Carmella over. What’s up?”

“I need you to come down to the shop, something’s happened.”

“What? What’s happened? If you are calling, it’s not good.” I could hear movement in the background.

“There has been a fire. It’s under control now, but we don’t know the extent of the damage until we go in.”

“I’m on my way.” He hung up the phone. Calling Cash to tell him what had happened before he heard it from someone else, I didn’t give it long before they would both be here. Moving to my car, I opened up the back of it and started taking out my gear. Sitting down, I pulled off my boots and slipped the pants on over the top of mine. Putting my boots back on, I pulled the suspenders into place before grabbing my jacket and pulling it over my arms and shrugging into it.
